Welcome fellow pilgrims to The Catholic Index, where faith and culture fruitfully meet. Our aim is to review the best the culture around us has to offer, leaving no stone unturned. From films to vlogs, books to blogs, everything may be at the service of Christ – if we look in the right way!
This blog is run by Ruadhán Jones, multimedia journalist with The Irish Catholic, and Seanan Jones – his brother. What you will find here is a mixture of reviews from our radio show of the same name, as well as links to objects of interest which didn’t make the air.
We have a two rating systems which advise you on the moral and artistic worth of the films reviewed, on a scale of -5 to +5. Respect for the objective claims of Catholic morality do not preclude watching films outside the faith, and so we will also review films which offer truth’s not strictly sacred, but secular also.
